Below is a breakdown of my latest personal project. The clip at the beginning is just the first section of a longer animation. I'll be adding to this over time and in between bookings.
I wanted to challenge myself to build motorbike helmet as I've not tried something this complex before. I based the model on the Nolan X804 helmet, but made my own alterations as I went along. The model was built in Cinema4D and the texturing was done in Substance Painter. I've not used Painter before and this was the ideal project to start learning it.
The concept for this is purely exploration of pushing myself to create something new and create interesting motion elements. I'm not aiming for anything in particular, other than self development.

I'll add more to this section as things progress.
Below are some select shots from the project. I wanted to build something that looked like it would happily sit as an advert in the background of a Blade Runner film, or something similar. I liked the idea of the helmet showing signs of visible wear, like it had been worn in a few races and had a few impacts, but remained robust. Although distressed products aren't something you'd normally see commercially, I like the idea of the impacts telling a story. It adds personality and it was great to add those little details in, too!
In the opening sequence, I wanted to add some texture to the graphics, as opposed to just flat animated motion elements. I liked the idea of the technology for screens and pixels developing in an alternate way to our current technology, so I added wavey pixels in which can be seen when illuminated by the graphics, with a some screen bounce back and bloom effects. This helps with the world building, the images are descriptive of the environment and the time it lives in.
