I created this spec CGI animimation at Frantic. It's inspired by the TAG Heuer Calibre 16 Automatic, and is built to demonstrate my approach to a dynamic watch animation, specialising in closeup movement on key features of the watch.
Watches are renowned for being a difficult product to portray in motion. Polished metal show microscopic surface imperfections, glass density fracturing light in the right way, precision of sections fitting and working together. It was important to capture all this with the right use of lighting, rendering and movement.
This was built as part of an ongoing experimental watch series. This was to demo an iconic watch brand while exampling precision camera work to match the precision of the watch.
